Matadi Mebengu International Port, Congo (Kinshasa)

With the construction, Matadi Port will be operated more efficient to serve the whole Democratic Republic of Congo

Matadi Mebengu International Port is situated on the Congo River, approximately 150 kilometers upstream from the Atlantic. The port is a major import and export point for the whole of DR Congo, and one of three ports along the Congo River.

The river port is built, managed and operated by a joint venture of ICTSI Coӧperatif U.A., subsidiary of International Container Terminal Service, Inc.(ICTSI) and La Societe De Gestion Immobiliere Lengo (SIMOBILE) in Mbengu, Matadi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The port is aimed to be a modern and state-of-the-art port that will support and facilitate the country’s economic growth through trade.

Phase 1 of the port project is 350 meters long, including two berths. For the 1st phase, the annual throughout capacity of the port will be 120,000 TEUs and 350,000 metric tons of cargo after completion. The port can also be used as temporary storage, loading and unloading for bulk cargo.
